Цели урока:

1. Развитие навыков чтения с пониманием основного содержания прочитанного текста.

2. Тренировка фонетических навыков.

3. Закрепление навыков монологической речи по теме «Участие в соревновании».

Ход урока

I. Организационный момент

— Good morning, my dear boys and girls!

Good morning, good morning!

Good morning to you!

Good morning, dear children!

I am glad to see you!

— We shall read different advertisements and discuss in what kind competition you would like to take part.

II. Речевая разминка

Учитель побуждает учащихся отвечать на вопросы в быстром темпе с использованием различных речевых клише.

— It’s a nice day today, isn’t it? (Oh, yes. I agree with you. The weather is good and sunny.)

— Mary, I’d like to ask you a question. (You are welcome. What would you like to ask me about?)

— Are you looking forward to the future? (Yes, I am. I am looking forward to the future.)

— Why are you looking forward to the future? (I am sure, the life of people will change in the future. I would like to travel in space.)

— Kate, do you agree with Mary that life will change in the future? (I agree with her. But the future frightens me. In my opinion, we shall have a lot of crime.)

— Mike, are you optimistic or pessimistic about the future? (I am optimistic about the future.)

— Why are you optimistic? (I believe that pupils will study at home using a computer.)

— Nick, do you think that there will be more jobs in the future? (I think so. As I see it, the most popular profession will be a computer programmer.)

— Are you going to become a computer programmer? (Yes, I am. It seems to me that it will be a well-paid job in ten years time.)

— How can people communicate in the future? (I am sure the mobile phones will be more popular in the future than now.)

— What TV (radio) programmes will be popular in ten years time? What school subjects will pupils learn at school? Etc.

III. Тренировка фонетических навыков

— It’s time to improve our pronunciation skills. Open your books, page 15, exercise 33. Listen to the speaker and read the words after him. Who can read the words? Read them in pairs. Let’s listen to some pupils and choose the best reader of these words.

Учитель привлекает внимание учащихся к словам упр. 33, стр. 15 из учебника. Ученики читают данные слова хором за диктором, в парах и индивидуально. Затем проводится конкурс на лучшего чтеца слов из данного упражнения.

IV. Развитие навыков чтения с пониманием основного содержания прочитанного

— Today we shall read the advertisements about different competitions. It’s exercise 31, page 14—15. You will read them quickly and answer the questions before the advertisements.

Учитель организует чтение текстов из упр. 31, стр. 14. Ученики читают материал данного упражнения про себя с целью нахождения информации на вопросы перед текстами объявлений. Время на выполнение задания — 2—3 минуты. По истечении данного времени ученики по цепочке зачитывают вслух вопросы и дают на них развернутые ответы. По усмотрению учителя может быть организовано чтение текстов вслух.

V. Вопросно-ответная работа по содержанию прочитанной информации

— Let’s answer some questions and discuss the competitions you can take part in. Read the questions and ask your friend to answer them.

Ученики по очереди зачитывают вопросы из упр. 32, стр. 15 и предлагают одноклассникам ответить на них. Желательно, чтобы на вопрос № 3 ответили как можно больше учеников.

VI. Физкультминутка

— Will you stand up? Let’s recite the poem and do some exercises.

Физкультминутка проводится кем-либо из учеников по желанию.

Hands up! Clap, clap.

Hands on the hips! Step, step!

Bend your left,

Bend your right,

Turn yourself around.

Hands up! Hands down!

Hands at sides and sit down!

VII. Закрепление навыков устной речи по теме «Участие в соревновании»

— Different competitions are held all over the world every day. I am sure you have taken part in some of them. If you answer the questions of exercise 34, page 15, we shall listen to your stories about the most exciting competition in your life. The word combinations from this exercise will help you to make your story interesting. Have you got any questions? Work in pairs and listen to each other.

Учитель предлагает детям рассказать о своем опыте участия в каком-либо соревновании. В качестве плана построения рассказа ученики используют вопросы и словосочетания из упр. 34, стр. 15 из учебника. Сначала каждый вопрос учитель разбирает с учащимися фронтально, а затем ученики делятся на пары и прослушивают рассказ своего партнера.

VIII. Контроль навыков монологической речи

— It is interesting to find out what competitions you have described. Let’s listen to your stories. Peter will be the first. Listen to him carefully and decide if you want to take part in this competition and why (why not). Also you will tell us if it is possible to win the prize.

В конце урока ученики по очереди представляют свои рассказы об участии в каком-либо соревновании перед классом. Установка для слушателей: прослушай рассказ внимательно и сообщи, хотел бы ты принять участие в данном соревновании и смог бы ты победить в нем. После каждого рассказа учитель побуждает детей высказаться по данным вопросам.

IX. Подведение итогов урока

— It brings us to the end. Thank you for your work. I hope you like our talk about different competitions in your life.

Учитель объясняет детям домашнее задание, благодарит их за работу и разучивает с ними стихотворение: учитель читает стихотворение, дети по строчке повторяют за учителем.

— We have few minutes to remember a poem.

Two little eyes to look around,

Two little ears to hear any sound,

Two little hands to hold hands tight,

Two little feet to walk left or right,

Two little lips to say “Beware!”

And one teenager to cross the roads with care.
