Цели: активизация лексических и произносительных навыков по теме «Известные люди»; совершенствование навыков чтения, монологической речи и грамматических навыков.

Оборудование: портреты известных людей.

Ход урока

I. Организационный момент

— Good afternoon, boys and girls. I’m glad to meet you. How are you today?

— Who is on duty today?

— What day is it today?

— OK. Let’s start the lesson now.

II. Речевая разминка

(Учитель в быстром темпе задает ученикам следующие вопросы.)

— Nice to see you, Liz. How are you? (I am fine, thank you. How are you?)

— I am fine, too. And what about you, Vova? How are you? (I am fine, thank you.)

— I am glad to hear that. The weather is fine today, isn’t it? (Oh, yes. I agree with you. It is rather pleasant.)

— Kate, I’d like to ask you a question. (You are welcome. What would you like to ask me about?)

— What famous people in Russia do you know? (Leo Tolstoy, Alexander Pushkin, Andrei Sakharov.)

— Who can add? Do you know any Russian painters? (Isaac Levitan, Valentin Serov, Ivan Shishkin.)

— Who was the first Russian cosmonaut? (Yuri Gagarin.)

— Are you proud of the Russian famous people? (Yes, I am. I am proud of my country and Russian people.) Etc.

III. Работа по теме урока

1. Фонетическая отработка новых слов по теме «Известные люди»

— Today we shall have a talk about famous people of Great Britain and America. I have written their names on the blackboard. Can you read them?

— Have you ever heard the names of these famous people?

(Учитель вывешивает на доске портреты знаменитых людей и обращает внимание детей на слова, записанные на доске (имена и фамилии известных людей на английском языке с транскрипцией). Ученики читают слова самостоятельно и повторяют их за учителем, хором и в парах.)

2. Работа по учебнику

Упр. 143 (с. 128).

— Open your textbooks on page 128, exercise 143. Say what these people are famous for.

Упр. 144 (с. 128).

— It’s time to read the story about the famous person. It’s exercise 144 on page 128. Let’s read the questions in the task. You will read the text to yourself for four minutes and find the answers to the questions.

— Your time is up. Who is ready to answer?

(Ученики читают про себя текст и отвечают на приведенные в задании вопросы.)

Упр. 145 (с. 129).

— I want to find out if you understand the text well. You can see some sentences in exercise 145 on page 129. Decide on the correct and wrong statements.

(Учащиеся в течение одной-двух минут самостоятельно выполняют задание, а затем по очереди зачитывают свои варианты.)

Упр. 149 (с. 129).

(Выполнение в группах по три человека.)

— Let’s return to the text about Daniel Defoe and his famous book. Can you describe the main character Robinson Crusoe?

— Look at the picture and make up the sentences to describe it using the word combinations from exercise 148 on page 129 in your textbooks.

VI. Проверка домашнего задания

— It’s time to listen to the poem “Helping Mother”. Repeat the poem in pairs and then you will go to the blackboard one by one and recite this poem. Open your textbooks, page 126, exercise 137.

— Your time is up. Who will be the first to recite the poem? (Ученики повторяют стихотворение из упр. 137 (учебник, с. 126) в парах, а затем по очереди выходят к доске и рассказывают его.)

VII. Подведение итогов урока

I can ski, I can skate,

I can sing, I can skip,

I can swim, I can’t fly

I can read and say “Goodbye!”

— Goodbye, boys and girls! (Goodbye, Maria Petrovna!)
